I have had multiple requests asking to describe and break down ‘those mysterious waffle tools’ aka. WAVE.CLIPS. They are super simple to use and not only look much more natural than a torture device of a triple barrel waver, but save your precious locks from heat damage. It may be tricky at first, but I promise its quick n easy once you get the hang of them.
TOOLS NEEDED: 1 wide tooth comb, texture specific blowout serum(smoothing/volumizing etc.), wave clips, beach spray, blowdryer
On wet hair, apply your favorite blowout serum, and rough dry your hair relatively smooth, if you have bangs, styling them as usual, until hair is 90%-100% dry.
Part your hair into four sections from ear to ear and front to back, keeping the front around your face on your preferred parting, whether it’s a side or middle part.
Starting no higher than your cheekbone, take the top piece of hair, usually the half the first section, and clip in the wave clip. Once the first one is in, take the ends of the first section and join it with the remaining hair, and clip into the wave clip, right underneath the first clip.
Keep in mind, we are stacking them vertically, kind of like jenga or lego blocks, top to bottom.
Repeat this around the whole head onto all four sections, making sure to keep the first clips in each section parallel.
Now that all the wave clips are in, spray them down with beach spray, and blow dry each section on medium for about 5 minutes. Once you have heated them all up, let them cool for about 5-10 minutes until completely cool. (The cooling down from the heating up is KEY to setting the style, plus this is where you can apply some lipstick, or snap that selfie!)
Take the clips out, shake out and open the waves with your fingers. You can leave as is, or finish with shine spray or pomade.
VOILA SEXY MEMAID! ;)
